Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.
A series of attacks hit power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.
Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.
Regional authorities said the city experienced significant strikes overnight. A young boy was killed and several individuals were injured.
The attacks come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.
The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.
